This Privacy Policy explains how the WeekEats app ("the App") collects, uses, and protects information when you use it. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

The App itself does not collect personally identifiable information. However, it uses third-party services that may collect data:

• Advertising identifier (IDFA) — used by Google AdMob to show relevant ads, if you grant permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt.
• App usage data — anonymised interaction data collected by Google AdMob for analytics and ad performance.
• Recipes you choose to share — if you publish a recipe to the community, the recipe content and optional author name you provide are stored in Apple CloudKit and visible to other users.

2. How We Use Information

• To display advertisements via Google AdMob that help keep the App free.
• To allow optional sharing of recipes with the community (only if you choose to do so).
• We do not sell your data to third parties.

3. App Tracking Transparency

On iOS 14.5 and later, the App will ask for your permission before accessing your advertising identifier. If you decline, ads will still be shown but will not be personalised. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

4. Google AdMob

The App uses Google AdMob to display ads. Google may collect and use data in accordance with its own privacy policy. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.

5. Apple CloudKit

Recipes you choose to publish are stored using Apple CloudKit. Apple's data handling is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Your Apple ID is never shared with other users.

6. Data Storage

All personal app data (your meal plan, shopping list, custom recipes) is stored locally on your device using standard iOS storage. This data is not transmitted to any server by us.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Your Rights

You may at any time:

• Revoke tracking permission in iOS Settings.
• Delete all app data by using "Reset entire app" in the app's Settings tab.
• Request deletion of any published recipe by contacting us.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be reflected by the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
